Here’s a definition for you, social justice warriors: ableism is thinking “transabled” people (who are physically healthy but want to be and pretend to be disabled) deserve the same accommodations as functionally disabled people.
To really think that shows such a profound dismissiveness of what…
In your “ask” post (which I can’t reblog) you refer to BIID as apotemnophilia. It’s actually BIID (apotemnophilia is… well… a sexual fetish).
You also get the definition of BIID wrong, stating that it is only people who desire amputation (which isn’t true, it can apply to many physical disabilities.)
Then you imply that BIID and transabled are not the same thing (which they are)
Then you equate transabled people to pretenders (people who are NOT transabled, but use wheelchairs and such anyway because they like it) and devotees (people turned on by the idea of disability).
Lastly, you call me (a person advocating for transability) a white, progressive cis man trolling feminists, which I find a bit confusing, since while I am white (and I’m not sure what you mean by “progressive”) I’m not cisgender, I’m not male, and I am not generally inclined to troll myself.
I’m, uh, also not inclined to insulting my girlfriend or most of my friends. Just putting that out there.
edit: and since when have feminists supported the rights of transwomen?
You don’t have an askbox, so I unfortunately have to reblog this waste of time. In essence, your reading comprehension skills are just fucking sad, and your understanding of apotemphilia is wrong (Wikipedia should be back up so look it up) . Nowhere did I talk about BIID, which is different than BID. And I said that every person I HAVE SEEN support it in the circles of follow on Tumblr and in real life, have been the same type of troll. Do I follow your blog? Have I interacted with you, total stranger? No. So I wasn’t calling you shit but speaking in the first person of my personal experience. Lastly, myself and everyone goddamn feminist I know personally and follow on Tumblr stumps for transgender issues. In the future, I suggest you read something two or even three time before you react because you misread everything specifically to take it as a personal insult. I’m sorry, snowflake, but it’s not always about you.
When you post on tumblr insulting transabled people, I, as a transabled person, have EVERY FUCKING RIGHT to get offended. Don’t tell me that your insults towards anyone with my specific disorder don’t apply to me just because I responded to them, because that’s bullshit and you know it.
BIID is the neurological disorder you refer to, the philia (which I don’t feel like spelling out again) is essentially the BIID equivalent of autogynephilia, and if you’re familiar at all with trans issues, you’ll know why I’m not going to even discuss that bullshit with you. I don’t know what you’re referring to as BID, there.
The edit was added after one of my trans friends asked me that question (and my girlfriend agreed with the question.) So I feel that it’s a fairly valid point. (Historically, a lot of feminists deny that transwomen are “real women”, and are simply men trying to get into women’s bathrooms, etc.)
Yes, snowflake, I knew about you and woke up this morning specifically to insult you. And, yes, I don’t like able bodied people who are trying to coopt rights I need to function in society, when what they really need is about ten years of intense psychotherapy. And seriously, get an askbox so people aren’t forced to reblog your dribble unto their own blog because, goddamn, what a waste of space.
waste of space indeed
i’d say someone take a baseball bat to their spine but that’s kind of giving them what they think they want
fuckwits
